One of the youngest area of France, “le département du Val d’Oise”, has lived a love affair with cinema for about fifty years. More than 400 films have been directed there like “Lust of life” with Kirk Douglas as Vincent van Gogh (Vincente Minnelli, 1956), “What’s new Pussycat” with Woody Allen (Clive Donner, 1962) and recently “A very long engagement” with Audrey Tautou (Jean-Pierre Jeunet, 2004). In 2004, the Val d’Oise has received its first big Chinese production : “Deng Xio Ping 1926” in the Parc Regional du Vexin.
